Social Justice Poetry

Gathering | A Social Justice Poem by JD DeHart

I am strangely proud
to be standing aside,
watching the blare
of bullhorns, listening
to the nicker of horses,
the ebony visage
of police uniforms,
listening to pain,
venom,
honesty, filling
the noon square.
