Social Justice Poetry

Culture | A Social Justice Poem by JD DeHart

This is the place a once proud race built
their modest homes,
which we have now renovated
into houses of scandal.
They sang their songs here,
which have revamped with a beat
of rage and impotence.
And this is the location
where a thousand heritages died
in the name of a railroad or a wall
or an entertainment.
