Social Justice Poetry

Taking Measure of the Situation | A Social Justice Poem by Scott Thomas Outlar

A little bit of fuss
on the streets

A little bit of fire
in the protest

A little bit of bacon
on the hotplate

A little bit of love
dried out in the sun

A little bit of truth
got stolen

A little bit of cash
carried away to a private resort

A little bit of law
bites the dust

A little bit of judgment
goes only so far

A little bit of measure
taken into our own hands

A little bit of time
until the lit fuse blows
