Social Justice Poetry

It’s a Power Thing | A Social Justice Poem by Scott Thomas Outlar

He who holds the purse strings
controls the movements
of the puppets and the pawns

He who controls the collective mind
sways the psyche
of all the sheep and slaves

He who dances in the darkness
is easily able
to steal away into the shadows

He who casts off his humanity
loses his empathy
but gains power in this broken world

But…
He who tests the natural laws of karma
will always wind up losing
in the end

And…
He who sells his soul to Satan
will find the fire
always stakes its eternal claim
