Social Justice Poetry

Fear and Compliance | A Social Justice Poem by Tara Lynn Hawk

With a rage unmatched
in our lives
Until now
We sit back and watch
Too afraid to speak out
They tell us
There is beauty there for us all
In the television
In the magazine
And we believe it
Too afraid to speak out
Lost in the crowd
After all there is safety
In numbers
We take our daily run
On the wheel
Too afraid to speak out
