The Raze – Being a Lament for the Rohingya | A Social Justice Poem by Tara Lynn Hawk

She
A pale ghost from
A stateless, segregated hell
Tear your skirt in half and tie your dying child on your back
With feet unshod you walk and walk
As the operations of clearance continue
If you can survive the rape, the fires
The bullets…the waves
The lady with the medal exclaims you are all just fine
As you lose your name and the graves multiply
